Of the 14 million people who have been forced to leave home\, 6 million have evacuated Ukraine and another 8 million have sought refuge elsewhere in the country. \nThe majority of families remain separated as most men\, ages 18 to 60\, cannot leave Ukraine with mothers and children who are seeking safe\, stable living conditions. \nAndriy Takhtay\, a Nazarene Pastor\, has been leading relief efforts to assist hundreds of internally displaced people. The Valley wants to partner with this effort and financially crowdfund his work to help as many families as possible. \nYour generous financial gifts to “Ukraine Families” will go toward emergency help like transportation\, shelter\, food\, water\, and essential supplies. On July 23rd\, we will be blessing a couple through yard clean up and some exterior painting. \nWe will meet at 912 West Ash Street at 8 AM. There will be free donuts\, coffee\, and water. We will end at 2 PM at the latest. Please bring a sack lunch. \nPlease dress for painting/yard work and bring a pair of gardening or work gloves. They will provide all the painting supplies. Then join us for Community Day on October 22nd from 2:00pm-7:00pm as we serve the community through a food drive\, followed by dinner\, and a night of worship at The Valley Church. \nHow to sign up? Sign up by texting the keyword “Community” to 937-400-3045 or emailing Pastor Taylor! The deadline to sign up is October 19th. By signing up you help us know how many vehicles we need for transportation\, how much food to provide for dinner\, and what supplies we will need for serving. \nWhat are we doing? We will be meeting at the church at 2:00pm and then we will break off into groups to do our service project by collecting food for the holiday season for the food banks in need. After that\, we will return to the church for dinner and some worship! This is a great way to serve the community and build community with your friends!
