piqua life groups

Hello Everyone!

To grow spiritually, you have to be connected with other people on the same journey. We can never realize our full potential without being in a community of people praying for us, encouraging us, helping us, and challenging us. And part of how we grow is being there for others doing the same for them.

We have groups for men, for women, teens, singles, couples, families with kids, groups in person and groups online, groups on specific topics: well, you get the idea – there is a group for everyone and a place for you!

One thing we have definitely learned over the past six months is that we need community because life is better together. I truly believe that we can never realize God’s dream for our lives and our full potential in isolation. We need people praying for us, encouraging us, helping us, and challenging us.

That is why we have always been huge proponents of group life at The Valley Church and why I would love to see every adult and teen in a group life this fall. We will have groups that meet in homes and online. We have groups for men, groups for women, groups for couples with children, groups on specific topics; well, you get my point - there will be group opportunities no matter your stage of life.

1st & 2nd Peter Group Study

Take a journey through 1st and 2nd Peter.

Peter has lived in close proximity to Jesus Christ for more than three years and Jesus had provided the apostle Peter the best possible example of what it looked like to live in holiness amid a hostile world. More than any other man who walked the earth, Jesus modeled that lifestyle. Peter, therefore, pointed his readers in the best possible direction, to Jesus Himself. Peter also encouraged Christians to pursue spiritual maturity through the Word of God as a remedy for false teaching and a right response to heretics in light of Christ’s promised second coming.

Got Questions? Join us for Alpha

Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith that lasts ten weeks. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create a good conversation that moves us closer to God and His plan for our life. It’s for those who are new to the journey and for those who want to re-examine their foundations. Everyone is welcome. Each session, we’ll take 75 minutes to get to know each other, watch the session video, discuss the question we’re wrestling with that night, and pray for each other.

Explore the Gospel of Mark

The Gospel of Mark chronicles Jesus’s journey from Galilee to Jerusalem. Along the way, the Messiah gathers a ragged band of disciples. As crowds grow and dwindle on the road to Jerusalem, only a few stick by the Suffering Savior on the road of discipleship.

In this 11-part series on the Gospel of Mark, author and speaker Francis Chan invites us to walk with him along the ancient ways of the Master. Tracing the steps of Jesus and the Twelve through Israel, Francis explores the major themes of the Gospel of Mark, and asks: Are we willing to take this journey to embrace discipleship?

GET OUT OF YOUR HEAD

Are your thoughts holding you captive? Jennie Allen knows what it’s like to swirl in a spiral of destructive thoughts, such as I’ll never be good enough. Other people have better lives than I do. God couldn’t really love me. But Jennie also knows we don’t have to stay stuck in toxic thinking patterns. As she discovered, God built a way for us to escape that downward spiral. Freedom comes when we refuse to be victims to our thoughts and realize we have already been equipped with power from God to fight and win the war for our minds.

God of Creation Study

A Study in Genesis from Author and Speaker Jen Wilkin

It all began with the Word. The opening chapters of Genesis teach us fundamental truths about God. We watch Him bring light after darkness, order after chaos, and rest after toil—all through the power of His Word.

As God reveals Himself through Scripture, we can only begin to understand ourselves when we first glimpse the character, attributes, and promises of our Creator.
